Kindeaver Privacy Policy

Kindeaver ("we," "us," or "our") is deeply committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and disclose your personal information when you use the Kindeaver platform, including our website, mobile applications, and any other services we provide (collectively, the "Platform"). This policy applies to both Campaign Organizers and Donors.
1. Information We Collect
We collect several types of information from you, including:
Information You Provide Directly:- Account Information: When you register for an account, we collect your name, email address, and password.
- Profile Information: You may provide additional information for your profile, such as your address, phone number, and profile picture.
- Campaign Information: If you are a Campaign Organizer, we collect information about your campaign, including its purpose, the amount sought, and the timeline.
- Donation Information: If you are a Donor, we collect information about your donations, including the amount, date, and payment method.
- Communications: We collect information when you communicate with us, such as through email or customer support.
- Payment Information: When you make a donation or withdrawal, we collect payment information, such as your credit card number or bank account details. This information is processed by our secure third-party payment processors, and we only retain limited transaction information necessary for record-keeping and compliance.
- Usage Information: We collect information about how you use the Platform, such as the pages you visit, the features you use, and the time and date of your visits.
- Device Information: We collect information about the device you use to access the Platform, such as your IP address, browser type, operating system, and unique device identifiers.
- Location Information: We may collect general information about your location, such as inferred from your IP address, or, with your explicit consent, your device's precise GPS coordinates.
- Cookies and Similar Technologies: We use cookies and similar technologies (like web beacons) to collect information about your Browse activity on the Platform. Cookies are small data files stored on your device that help us remember your preferences, enhance your experience, and analyze platform usage.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information for various purposes, including:- Providing and Improving the Platform: To operate, maintain, and continuously improve the Platform, and to develop new features and services that enhance your experience.
- Facilitating Transactions: To securely process donations and withdrawals, and to provide you with necessary receipts and transaction confirmations.
- Communicating with You: To send you important information about your account, the Platform's services, your transactions, and to respond to your inquiries and requests efficiently.
- Personalizing Your Experience: To customize the content and features you see on the Platform, and to provide you with relevant recommendations based on your activity.
- Marketing and Promotion: To send you promotional materials and offers about Kindeaver's services and other services that may interest you. You can easily opt out of receiving these communications at any time.
- Analytics: To analyze how users interact with the Platform, understand user behavior, and generate aggregated and anonymized data for research and internal reporting purposes.
- Security and Fraud Prevention: To protect the security and integrity of the Platform, and to actively detect and prevent fraud, money laundering, and other illegal activities.
- Legal Compliance: To comply with all applicable laws and regulations in Uganda, and to respond to lawful requests from government authorities when necessary.
3. How We Share Your Information
We may share your information with the following categories of recipients:- Campaign Organizers: We share Donors' names and donation amounts with the Campaign Organizers they support, unless the Donor chooses to remain anonymous during the donation process.
- Service Providers: We share your information with trusted third-party service providers who assist us in operating the Platform, such as payment processors, cloud hosting providers, and analytics services. These service providers are contractually obligated to protect your information and are only permitted to use it for the specific purposes we define.
- Business Partners: We may share your information with carefully selected business partners who offer products or services that may be of interest to you, provided such sharing aligns with this policy.
- Legal Authorities: We may disclose your information to government authorities or law enforcement agencies if required by law, to protect our rights or the safety of others, or in response to a valid legal request.
- Other Users: If you use public features of the Platform, such as comments sections or public forums, any information you post may be visible to other users.
- With Your Consent: We may share your information with other parties when we have your explicit consent to do so.
4. Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as necessary to provide you with the Platform's services, to fulfill the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, and to comply with applicable laws and regulations in Uganda. We may retain anonymized or aggregated data indefinitely for analytical and historical purposes.

- Restriction: Request that we restrict the processing of your personal information under certain circumstances.

- Withdraw Consent: If we process your information based on your consent, you have the right to withdraw your consent at any time.

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, use, alteration, or disclosure. These measures include:- Encryption: We use encryption to protect your sensitive information during transmission.
- Access Controls: We restrict access to your personal information to authorized personnel only, based on the principle of least privilege.
- Regular Security Assessments: We conduct regular security assessments, vulnerability scanning, and penetration testing to identify and address potential security weaknesses.

Your personal information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than Uganda. These countries may have data protection laws that are different from the laws of Uganda. The Kindeaver Platform is not intended for individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If you are a parent or guardian and believe that your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately, and we will take prompt steps to delete such information from our records.
9. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. We will provide reasonable notice of any material changes, such as by posting the updated policy on the Platform or sending you an email notification. Your continued use of the Platform after the effective date of any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
